Awesome, thanks Lost. That makes more sense to me now.

This is a really cool project! I am tempted to do something like this in a Suzuki samurai. Changing the gears in the car tranny would mean you could take it from a rock crawler to flat out race machine so easily... might not work with suspension etc. but the rest of it is right on.

Like I said in a post a few years ago . Dales setup with the Honda trans is a good deal and not complicated it works very well and he said he did just pick a gear and stayed with it 3rd if I remember correct
The question is not if its gona roll. Its when ..

That be some kind of church cruzzer or commuter bike thingy ?

So the honda transmissions have a differential built in? What type?

I'm thinking if would be nice to use only one side of the honda transmission to drive a driveshaft for a 4x4. Would it be as simple as welding the diff locked then running a chain from one output to a shaft?

Well I'm back boys and I've just finished installing a turbo and a s**tload of other stuff
The Honda has been trouble free for years now and the 630 chain lasts for 2 years but the master link wears out every season
I will upload pictures within the week

I must have read a different thread than you , because i read , at least 3 different places that you can shift the Honda trans anytime you want to ( you need not stop to shift ). He just clutches and shifts, just like the trans was intended in a car.

Wondering if someone could post some of the older pictures from the beginning of the thread. I have a GK-06 that I'm putting a CBR 600 engine in and I bought a 2004 honda civic transmission. So I need to know how to support the output shaft and how the sprocket was attached along with the Trans brake. What good spindles to look for and do i just use 2 short side honda civic CV axles or are there special sizes to go for. I have a direction just lots of holes to fill in.
