Hello all and thanks for the add. My father in law got a rocketa buggy five years ago modded with a 03 cbr954 motor. He never really finished it was kinda sketchy driving. So no I inherited the project and got it running again. Started to take a part to see how bad the rust was and all rubber bushings are shot and main frame tube is rusted with holes. So by the time I replace all the cancer and stretch it and build a safe cage it won’t be cost effective. Was looking at the badlands 2 seaters I like the st4 over the st3 due to size and front brakes. What other buggy plans do you all recommend. As I live in Florida will never see the dunes (at least not for a while and that would be a vacation) will mostly be used in sugar sand and mud grass. So at least I have a motor to start. Thanks for the info and future help

There used to be a bunch of professional buggy plans available, but the owners have either retired or gone out of business. Badlands Buggy and the Edge Products are probably the two best sources for plans these days.
Things to consider in the plans are the number of tubing bends, welding skills and the type of engine you want to run. The ST4 isn't a bad choice if you're using a motorcycle engine.

Welcome!
i recently purchased the Edge co Sidewinder plans; although I ended up finding a Panther project that I’m rebuilding instead, but the Sidewinder is fairly simple and straightforward. There is the conversion factor from metric system, but nothing a quick calculator can’t take care of. It’s a “beginner” build to some, but I have limited machining tools available so it appealed to me.Dune 500

It's not about the size or the complexity of a build that matters, it's the fact that your giving it a crack. Kfab was only saying the other day that he has learnt from his build and would do things differently if he started again. I'm the same with my build.
All dressed up and waiting for the beer to arrive.

So what would be a good beginner 2 seat buggy to build. I like the badlands ones but want to start with a not very difficult
Not expensive ( I know not realistic but trying) I don’t have a max budget but trying to keep it under 5k or even less. Not tied to any plans yet but like the st4 but not sure I want to use 1in schedule 40 pipe for cage. Thanks!!

Materials are always substitutable. I’d not use pipe under any circumstance - easy enough to replace with 1018 DOM mild.
Pick a plan and then mod as seen fit. We’ll guide you as to what diameter and wall thickness depending on component and location.
I think most of the guys that have built the ST4 have been happy with them.
Have you looked at Rorty plans? There’s a few here on the forum.
