Hey all, new "official member here, been looking through the site for a year now answering my own questions. Insurance adjuster by trade and former mechanical engineer. Going to be ordering buggy plans soon and starting my journey, going to be a long build though as summers im swamped with work so the majority will be next winter, when i get deep into it ill start a build thread. Leaning towards the Badland ST4 bud modded to take VW or trailer spindles in front and 930s in back with a complete sled drive along the lines of JERM's build. Nice to meet everyone!!!!

Looking forward to your build. Yes, it can be challenging to fit a buggy build into your life, but it's worth it. I'm finally putting the final touches on the drivetrain and rear suspension on my 2nd build. I won't tell you how many years I've been working on it, but I keep at it.

My project was supposed to be a wintertime project.

What sucks is pushing it all into a corner and moving all your parts so you can do the summertime honey do list!

I'm on my second winter and I told my wife, just let me finish it this time!

Great idea! I'd love to see more buggies built with snowmobile parts! the gear reduction is built into the chaincase and some chaincases even have reverse. I saw your note on my youtube feed. So far I havn't had any issues with the cast bulkheads that hold the engine and chaincase together. I only trimmed a bit off the rear, made some cross bracing to hold it all together. What sled are you planning to use?
