Hello to all, my name is john, I've been lurking around the forum for a while now and finally decided to join in. My wife and I are avid sand dunners and love to spend as much time in the Oregon dunes as we can. The rest of my time is spent creating a new machine for the dunes or working to pay for it lol. I've had a half dozen vw sandrails over the years. We are currently running a vw long travel 2 seat rail, 2 ltz 400 quads and a single seat sandrail with a zx9r motor. I'm a machinist and fabricator and just all around gearhead. I look forword to being a member on the forum.

I've got lots of pictures , just got to figure out how to post them. I read the sticky about photobucket, it's been years since I've done that but I'll give it a try.

Welcome!!!! We like us some pictures.

DON'T do photobucket!!! Go to IMGUR for your photo posting needs. I think there was a tutorial for IMGUR. Look under Minibuggy Lounge area in the forum. I think it is there.

Ok here's the single seat rail

Hope this works , photobucket sucks, I hope Imgur works better.
I built this car originally, in 1999 for my kids to drive. I have rebuilt the suspension a couple times , the last time was just a couple years ago when I put the zx9r motor in it. I built a megasquirt fuel injection system for it . It was my first try at fuel injection and i can't believe how good it works. In fact I think fuel injection was easier that uploading photos

This is our other sandrail, it has a 2276cc vw engine which currently has carbs but I'm working on a fuel injection system for it. I just finished rebuilding the suspension on the front. It used to have a vw beam and now it sports my A-arm setup with 20 " of travel. I'll start a build tread for these cars I just thought I would throw a little info up

    Awesome!!! Cool looking cars!
Actually can't wait to have another build thread. I'ts been quiet here on the build front due to the popularity of the RZRs.
