    Hi all .
Im new here been into shooting and hunting and mesing around with landrovers and other 4x4 all my life but a buggy looks to me like more fun now i have got a bit older and wiser.

I would like to build a buggy for off and on road use im pretty good at fabrication and welding so this is going to be a challenge.

got a couple of questions .

2 wheel drive or 4 . as i would like to make a serious off roader.
is there any benifits to having 4 wheel drive on a buggy and does it slow the buggie down by a large amount.

what engine would one recomend for a 2 seater.

Last but not least has any one got any plans for a build with a rough cost to materials as money is an issue ..

    cheers guys..

    Welcome to MBN!

Most builds on this site are 2wd and use MC, snow mobile or other small industrial engines. There are a few 4wd cars using 4wd quad components and also a few using Samurai axles married to some power unit.

Search members for Rustynuts quad based 4wd mini. At least you'll get some ideas. Pirate 4x4.com probably has some ideas as does Offroad Fabrication Network

Suzuki Motors produced a small 4wd jeep-like unit called the Samuri. Google Suzuki Samuri.

Stock means it has no performance modificaions or other changes. Rhino refers to utility vehicle like those made by Yamaha, Honda, etc.
