looking to build a HD utv

I have been in the market for a utv for some time now but I don't really like how weak market options are. I am looking for some type of it for hinting and ranch work. I really like the Polaris rangers but they are made to cheap and not cheap at all. I am toying with the idea of building a utv from an all wheel drive auto that had all indipendent suspension.

Wanted to check and see if anyone had any advice or seen it done before. I would be going for the look of a 4 seater ranger with a little larger bed. Anything helps.

That is almost exactly what I was planning. Hopefully a little more stylish though. I will look into them. Thanks

you could start out with a samurai, they're about the same size and have a heated cab! I think the Geo is about the same too, and the added bonus of being street licensed

I really like the maxi taxi also. I think I may go with a subaru style one taking the suspension out of a uni body and building a frame / uni body for utv framework and go from there. I think this will be a long term project but I really like a challenge. If I ever get it started r finished I will post them. Thanks for the advice.

You should look at the beginning dates of some of the current Projects in Progress - they're never a short term project, unless you're Tut, who unfortunately is no longer on the site. That guy could build a car in what seemed like a couple of hours.
