I found this on ebay the other day. It's just about exactly what I want except it doesn't look like it has a lot of travel. I don't think I could put something comparable together for that price either. What are your thoughts?

It looks nice, but with that rack it is going to have horrible bumpsteer. Also type 2 CV's will not like the ZX14.

Bumpsteer? yes..but the suspension wont cycle enough to really be a issue. Its a hillshooter. I'm running type 2 cv's w/ a GSXR1000 without any issues. The trick is to not over angle them. I'm running 20 degree max on race prep type 2 cv's.

From the ad "Weighs 583 lb". That alone is scary, with the engine accounting for nearly 200 lbs.

I'd avoid buying "Appletree" or "XTC" buggies..... unless you're looking to go really fast in a straight line....

And even going straight is scary.

I can't see how it would only weigh 583 pounds. My single seat contraption comes in at 750. That was my other thought was it doesn't look like it has any travel. I've spent a few years bouncing up and down over whoops and I'm ready to fly over the top of them.

They are either completely BS'ing the weight, or it's actually that light, both cases I wouldnt buy. You could put something better together for that much, or buy a much better buggy.

I can see 583 with aluminum panels and what little cage structure there is and it being cro-mo . otherwise looks like a straight line ride ...
