    Hi everyone,

We have a 2008 PGO BR500i and it has a gearbox problem, and I wondered if any one else with a PGO BR500i had it too?.

Reverse is OK as is low range, but high range just keeps jumping out of gear and you can hear the gears clunking as if they're just out of gear.

If I push the gear lever as far forward as I can that works for a second until I try to use more power.

    Thanks for reading.

    Howdy and welcome to MBN.

No clue as to the vehicle you're talking about. It is a Chinese buggy or??? It's something I've never heard of.

If it's a Chinese ride, you may have better luck getting information and help on it over on BuggyNews.com
BN is more in line with those products.

That being said, I'm sure someone here on the board probably has some sort of info for you.

The 1 video I watched said it had a Fuel injected 500cc engine, High and low gear, Reverse, and a lockable diff. Sounds pretty cool.

With it jumping out of gear, is it possible that the cable that operates the gear selection needs adjustment? It sounds like you may not be getting a full engagement. Also, does the gear shift lock in place to hold the trans in the selected gear?

    Hi,

Thanks for everyone's posts on this.

It's made in Taiwan under licence from piaggio, hence the name PGO. Yes its a belt drive fuel injected single cylinder.

I've got the gearbox off and split now, it appears that the high range cog was engaging until it had pushed hard on a 1mm thick washer, this had caused the washer to change shape allowing the cog to move too far and so out of gear.

Going to get a 2mm thick washer tomorrow and I think that this will fix it.

I will of course keep y'all posted.
