New to the forum, glad to be here! Seen alot of valuable information here and used alot of it to build my first offroad buggy (cbr1000 powered 2 seater).
Well over the last 8 months I've been building a r1 powered hill climb car. (I know this is an offroad forum, but cant find anywhere else about builds like these. Delete if not allowed) it's finally almost complete. Upon rolling it out of the garage, I noticed when I turn and roll it forward, my outside front wheel tries to fold under the car.
Basically, if I turn left the right wheel tries to fold underneath the control arms until it binds itself and I can't move the car. Same thing with the left wheel if I turn right.
Ive tried different alignment positions, different negative and positive camber degrees, but nothing solves it or even minimizes it. Has anyone else experienced this or can shed some light on whats going on? I'm pretty stumped at this point. Thanks in advance!

Welcome to MBN.
No worries if it’s a climber - we’re build junkies so everything is welcome and enjoyed.
Can you post up some pix of the problem?
Are you over rotating because of tie rod placememt?
a (space bar) lot. Two words... just sayin’...

Pictures would help, but it sounds like you have a bad Ackerman problem, and probably bad angles between your spindle and a arms.
Is just the tire rolling under? If so, probably an Ackerman problem. If the wheel, spindle, and tire are all rolling under, the angles between the spindle and a arms are too close to eachother.

pics definitely. i've seen that occur with improper length steering racks and tie rods, essentially bump steer to a massive extreme. add that to possible improper upper and lower a-arm pivot point placement and you've got some funky going on.

Alright I think I got it. Only picture I have at the moment that shows a majority of the front end, I will take more once I get off work.Snapchat-315335594.jpg

Just drew this up real quick with my phone. Yellow is the steering rack, red is the tie rods, green is a straight bar to compensate for the high angle of my steering rackSnapchat-977558440.jpgSnapchat-977558440.jpg

Welcome to MBN Horizon, where are you from?
From what I can tell, the steering rack is WAAAY too far back.
Should be almost inline with your steering arms, plus or minus a bit.
Better pictures will really help.
Good news is, theres guys here that can tell you exactly how to fix it.

Thanks! And Houston Texas!
That's what I had figured, so I made that spreader bar to keep my spindles from squeezing together, but didn't work lol.
Yea if I'm gonna find an answer it'll be from here!

Well it's not letting me post these pictures, not sure what to do about that. But from what I've gathered so far, I'm going to drop my steering rack down inline best I can with the spindles, then re-adjust everything the best I can and see if that works. Now if that approach doesn't work, what would y'all recommended my next move be?
