I've wanted to build a mini buggy for years and finally started to get serious. I scoured the internet looking for ideas and finally came across the ST4. I really liked the layout and looks of it, so it was settled...that's what I am going to build.

In late February I started laying out the frame. I had a large supply of 1-1/2" and 1" .120 wall DOM tube so that is what I used. Sure its a little heavier than I need, but I don't have any strength concerns. I strayed from the plans since I am a bigger guy and need to be able to get in and out of this thing. I made the cabin 8" longer, 6" wider and 6" taller.

I was able to score an 03 CBR600RR engine really cheap so that became the power plant. Sure I'd love to put a 1000cc or better in it, but I couldn't pass it up.

I decided to use the hubs, axles and wheels from a Cavalier since they are so cheap and readily available.

Since I am from the automotive world and I have a lot of automotive parts I decided to use a car fuel pump and regulator. I also went with an 8 gallon fuel cell.

I was able to take it on its first trip around the neighborhood last night and so far I like it. I need to re-gear this thing with these small tires though. During my research I decided to go with an 11/60 sprocket combo...way too much.
A few more things and I can blow it all back apart, finish welding it and throw some paint on it.
This is what it looks like as of now.

Hey man, I really like your a-arms with the round tubing. Did you do any drawings for those? I just built my as in the drawing package with the rectangular tubing, but I want to redu them with round. Would you mind sending me some closer up pics or drawings if any of those?
    thanks!

I didn't do any drawings of them unfortunately. They are basically to the same dimensions as the rectangular style I just tweaked them to use an off the shelf bushing. The bushing ends are 1-1/2" .120 wall DOM while the main bar is 1" .120 wall DOM. I just used a short section of tube along with a threaded tube end for the heim joint end. I will try to get you some better pics.
