    ST2 LT Build & Questions
    #1

I'm building the ST2 LT, but I have a few questions.

    1) The plans recomend U-Joints, but I see a lot of people doing CVs. Are the CVs really that much of an upgrade over U-joints or is it just easier since most car axles already have the CV.

    2) The plans say to press the rear wheel bearings into the carriers, and later press the hubs into the bearings. It seems like this would put unnecessary stress on the bearing because this would leave the inner race unnsupported, if that makes sense. I have been told that this will ruin a bearing. Is this the proper way to do it or am I missing something?

Im sure this is common knowledge to someone I just cant figure it out.

One thing I wish I had done was modify the cage for more head room. A little more length in the engine compartment would have been good too. That frame looks nice, well done. What kind of motor you runnin'?

I think u-joints can handle a lot of power but the ones they have in the plans seem kinda light duty.

Yeah, my build's in the ST2 forum. I'm just waiting on powder coat right now. I used a TL1000R motor.

    Ted,

I like your buggy with the r1 in it. Is your frame built to the plans specs or did you modify it?

Edit: Nevermind I read the rest of that thread. That thing about the A and B pillars is good to know.

    Sotiris,

ive read through your thread more than one time, it has been very helpful!
