Ody, mine has the brake bias valve in that spot, it uses those two holes for a mount. I do not have the residual valve.

    Thanks, Chikin, that the one!

Thank you too, Bull. That's good to know.

I had the function wrong, it keeps the pads closer to the disc for a firm pedal, so I doubt that's my problem.

I don't have that, nor do I recall seeing one on any of the cars. And yea, that's a pressure maintaining valve, to do just what you were saying.

I do have a bias lever that adjusts the FRONT brakes - from full to less pressure. Going to less pressure lets me lock up the rears before the fronts, going to full pressure locks up all four at the same time. At least in theory...

I've never messed with the pads - not even really sure what they're off of. I wonder if you just need to locate some new and maybe different material pads? How's the surface of the disc?

Might consider getting the disc surface ground or hitting up RickS. and seeing if he can copy one for you.

The rear brakes are CNC Inc, and pads are available from Off Road Warehouse, or are listed online, at least. The spares I had were the long life versions.

The rear disc seemed fine, and I have a spare in case it isn't.

I still have to check the fronts to make sure they are up to snuff.

I guess I'm going to set up a dead pedal to make sure I'm not dragging them by accident, and do a more complete flush with new fluid.

Does anyone recognize this front brake caliper that's on my Briggs? I'm looking for a source of pads for it.

I had the residual valve on my briggs. I had no accelerated wear once I removed it.

That is a residual valve that keeps pressure in the caliper, not out. It is a band-aid for a brake issue that should be solved.

Have you taken your calipers apart and rebuilt them? The pistons can get crap on them and get sticky in the bores. This will cuase more drag than the residual valves.......

Edit, should have read the next page before I replied LOL........
