ok I got it to open in a dwg viewer. So I am not that good with the viewer. I can or cant pull dimensions right off it? Or do I just need to take the file to my plasma cutter to put into their machine? I was hoping to cut it out here at home as a bonified home built project. But the local shop is pretty good, they cut my bubmper parts out of the nested .dwg file I emailed them.

Thanks for the information. I decided to just give it to my local metal shop to cut out. they are doing it for $131 material included. Ill update with pics as I get it together. The shop is a couple weeks out on cutting.

Hey Guys, Thanks for the bender drawings, having the plates costed as we speak. Quick question on bending, does anyone know the minimum bend radius that should be used on 38.1 x 2.6 DOM tubing? and do you have drawings/sizes of the bending dies?

    Cheers

    That's a big chunk-o-steel.

Not to hijack your thread, but I made my own as well using the Chopper Builders' Handbook (basic JD2 model 3). Plans a re free online. Only welding required was the assembly of the DIY kit from SWAG (but you can buy them welded).

    Cost breakdown:

    Plans - FREE (internet)
Stand - $10 (garage sale pick, weight rack)
    1/2" Steel bar - $60 (eBay @ Detroit)
    Hardware - $25 (Home Depot), all Hi-grade
    Pins - FREE (had 'em)
    A/H cylinder - $96 (HF, incl shipping)
Chunk of aluminum for shoe (free scrap I had)
1.25" ID x .50" spacers - $4 (eBay, used for rear shoe and for front catch)
    SWAG mount - $100 (swagoffroad.com, incl shipping)
    Grand Total: ~$295

The bare bones JD2 model 3 bender will cost you $295 + s/h and no die, no air/hyd cylinder and no cyl mount, but it comes neat & ready-to-assemble. I made my own 1-1/4" die, but the bender accepts the jd2m3 dies.

    That takes 2 pulls for a 90?
Also I've seen a bunch of bent ram pictures with the swag bracket, the load path is poor at best.

I definitely prefer this style with vertical bends over the horizontal ones regardless, I don't have a ton of room.

Ok, I'm a bit embarassed to ask, but is there a way to convert this into a simple template? I have a plasma cutter and I work in a stamping plant. I just need the dimensions of the hole sizes and locations.

I have Key Creator and PCDmis here on my laptop and both give me nonsensical dimensions.
