Air operated pins for indexing the cylinder with spring retract to move the beam.
Air cylinder to rotate the head 90 in process.
Dual chain/motor carriage for enough power to kick the tube from the die .
And the option of mounting a torch to cut off small parts.

And back from the dead!
A double reduction drive helps up the torque on the carriage. Going back to basics just trying to get a CNC locator going. I have a feeling partly automated will be the first working unit.

So will this be an add on to the Tube Pro? An all in one CNC tube cutter, notcher, bender would be absolutely amazing. I am sooooo getting one of these if so!!!

This will be a standalone unit. Yes I could have a cutter head swing in, maybe even rotate the cutter around the tube... After bending.
Going to be a LOT more controls involved.Don't sue me if it becomes self aware and kidnaps your wife to mexico.

Bullnerd you might like this one...
The last one hurts my brain, like giving birth. We're gonna rotate the torch around the tubeThat way you can do some silly swiggle straw tube and not have to rotate to the tube.
I think the best way to get this running is to make it semi-automatic.
IE we have stops in the bending program that will tell the operator to un-pin , etc. then punch ok. I'll bring in the automation one step at a time.Last edited by JGSturbo; 02-08-2015 at 02:22 PM.

All I see is an X!
My original idea was to rotate the torch so the tube could be already bent. Yeah the sparks would be a bitch!
I worked next door to Alpha Automation, he said no problem to design the controller. I never followed up, this was about 2001?
