transaxle recommendations

In our current build we have a dana h12 with lsd. We have to do a new build next year and since the h12 is so hard to come by I wanted to know my options. I was looking at a comer transaxle with high low rev but it's rated at top speed of 30 and a 170 cc engine. We run a 305 cc and currently to our at about 40 mph. Any advice welcome

Shaka, Sorry can't help you with your question, Im not familiar with those parts. Hope you were able to get some answers during your research.

first what are you building? and not sure of a dana h12? is that like a solid axle dana 44 or 30 but smaller? and is it just a diff or solid axle? im using Subaru diffs in my build front they are pr3tty much indestructible for what little power we are using in buggies. plus the wrx run 300+ hs from factory they are about 22 long from cover to yoke though so room may be factor also there are numerous diff from other cars possible to work also ford few European cars like audi etc. has a lot to do with availability why I went with suby I live in new England and subies are everywhere and cheap and gear ratios are so numerous im running 4:44's to get power band lower and usable for 4x4. Hope that help some

P.S. some suby rear dif also have lsd I did find a guy that made up a mech. locker for them but would have to search for his site again

The H12 is a FNR gearbox with a gear ratio of around 10:1 I think. I believe they weigh 30-40 pounds and come with splined sleeves to weld cv cups to. I forget the hp rating but I think they can take up to 100 ft/lbs of torque in short bursts.

I think you can still get them from quality drive systems. They are located somewhere in CA.
