I am building the Shredder 2 from ubuilditplans.com and thought I would throw some pictures up here.

I will be using it to go down local atv trails, bird hunting, things like that. *I have always wanted to build something like this so rather than buy a four wheeler I decided to try and build something. *I am starting this project with basically zero fabrication experience, so this is quite a big deal to me.

I just bought my first house and the garage was pretty weak so first I had to start there. *I replaced the single illegal buried wire with new 60 amp service, added electric heat, picked up a welder and a cold saw. *This basically blew my entire budget, but I am finally getting started again.

I spend a lot of time practicing welding and then built a simple jig table. *I soon learned that square tubing isn't actually all that square but I finally ended up with something square and level. *I made adjustable legs as my garage floor is very crude. *I then cut and labeled most of the frame parts and have the beginnings of a frame.

I have about 3' in my yard right now. *I gues you could say sand dunes aren't really my thing, unlike many of you here.

60 amp to the garage? Why not at least 100 or 150

Well, my home only has 100 amp service for one thing, and I have no need for more in my tiny garage.

I've only got 60 amp to my shop too, since it runs to the house. Just make sure that the welder and heater aren't going at the same time.

The buggy has been neglected the past few weeks but I have made a little progress. *I finished the main frame and have all the tube for the cage bent. *Not much but at least my little project has made it into 3D... *I don't have the right size hole saw for my tube notcher and have at least learned that I can't cope tube by hand worth a damn...at least I have built up my stock of scrap tube...
