I thought I had started a build thread on this site, but can't seem to find it here.
I'm starting to make real progress, finally. Here is a link to my Photobucket album

That is awesome. Very nice designing involved. It looks like you have easy access to a laser cutter. Nice shop and 954 piranha!

How in the world do you keep your shop so clean??? *Mine's not a mess, but I can't eat off my machines either. (well, I wouldn't recommend it to the average bear - I on the other hand will eat off just about anything...)

    Thanks Guys,
I have laser and strippit machines where I work. Right now most of my parts are made at work. Still saving for a mill, welder, and saw for the shop. I picked up the lathe recently and I can't believe how much I've been able to do with it.
I started this build over a year ago, but it went on hold while I wired and finished the interior of the shop. It doesn't look like it anymore, but it's actually a pole barn. Took all of my evenings and weekends last summer complete it.
I hope to have a rolling chassis by this Summer. Most of the smaller items are already made, so it should go quick.

Just started building on this again.
Here are a couple new pics. The rear end is actually one that I sold, but I'm welding the same design into this frame.

Yes kids the shop is that clean, i went up there a while ago when Rick offered to help me with some machining. It was so damn clean, walls, floor, tools, all spotless. Not to mention he's a damn nice guy. Can't wait to see more progress.

Hey Rick what type of computer files does laser machine take, will it take Solidworks files or dwg files. I wanna design a nicer center carrier and get some stuff laser cut.

The white walls and fluorescent lights help to create the illusion. But seriously, if I don't keep it clean I can never find anything. For laser and waterjet I've always used autocad dxf files. I believe that's the format most places prefer.

Hmmm i wonder if Solidworks can save in that format, i'll have to look.
It's not an illusion, the place is cleeeeean. You wanna see disaster, come look at the little box i try to fab stuff up in.

I was able to, or maybe I used rhino to convert? I did it for Gene's plates.
