First time setting the engine in the frame on bottom motor mounts.
Wish I would have extended this portion of the chassis maybe two inches
over the KJ Raycing plans to give me a little more room fitting this engine
in without stealing any more cockpit space.
Designed setup to fit up to a 60 tooth sprocket (shown here).

Started thinking about 2-into-1 exhaust routing and fitting more chassis support tubes.

It's always the same. Space is always tight and you finish the build thinking if I did it all again I'd do that differently.
All dressed up and waiting for the beer to arrive.

I came across KJ Raycing's Youtube channel a few months ago and I was impressed with the amount of thought that he put into his builds. I'm glad to see someone building a buggy using his ideas.

I've been watching the KJ raycing YouTube channel since his first build. You have made some serious progress in not that much time and it looks great. I've thought about using his plans for a single seat build in the future, but would probably modify them a little for more cockpit room and more engine room/set up space.
Good luck to you!

Absolutely!
Fair number of people doing some of his builds (posts on the FB group). Working on I think his fourth one (two-seater).
Actually have been working on this kart for over a year. Pretty much finished....just recapping the build. Thanks!

Here I was starting to mock up & build the rear a-arms.
Used 5/8" shank x 1/2" hole FK rod ends. 1.25" lower and 1" upper tubes (.093" wall).

Bought a 4-gallon fuel cell from Summit Racing & fabbed some mount straps for it.

Used the original Ninja FI pump out of the bike tank. Modified the sender rod to work in the fuel cell.
Machined an aluminum plate to mount the pump in the cell. Just learning to TIG aluminum....

At this point I decided I should be done with everything on the chassis.
I could either (1) assemble, test, disassemble, paint, reassemble, or (2) paint
the chassis at this point and deal with any changes & paint touch-up as needed.
I decided to go for it.... coating the rest of the chassis with etching primer.

I followed up with Rustoleum hammered shot from a gun.
Finished dash area....
