I'm thinking pics of said fancy paintwork are needed so I can drool over them.

    Please.

No painting progress lately. 116F here. Hottest September day since the 1930’s or something like that.

    How’s the humidity?
Even I, the desert dweller, will admit that’s HOT.
We’re experiencing an odd next few days of the mid 90s (around 35C) when the avg. is 103. (39.4C). There’s a hurricane that bumbled up along the Baja peninsula and pulled cooler air & moisture up over us.

Yeah it’s hot. Humidity is low, thankfully. Glad you’re getting a little bit of a break from the heat. My best friend’s whole town (and house) is being threatened by a growing fire currently. Hoping and praying they get it under control.
May get a chance to paint some more parts today as it’s a bit cooler than the week. I have a few more roof repairs to do first though. (Last winter an unusually strong wind came through town and blew part of my roof off. I fixed most of it at the time in the rain, at midnight…, but part of the repair still needs attention. Almost done!

Got most of the frame stripped yesterday. I’m only painting the new construction/back half. I couldn’t find a satisfactory color match to the red, so I’m just painting it gloss black. Depending on how the day goes, I may have enough time to tape it up and shoot some color.

Top stuff bud. Fingers crossed on the weather for you.

It's been non stop pissing rain over here in Bendigo. I feel like Shrek telling people to "Get out of my swamp!" Of late. Lol

Got a break in the rain yesterday so I added last minute gussets on the tube that the rear shocks mount to, a light-gauge round “stiffener tube” on each side of the frame, and painted the frame. Now to re-assemble, tweak a few little things, and wait for a camping trip.
… and also should probably mount the seat belt… and the sprocket skid plate.

Been raining on and off here too. By the way Jim, do you guys have eucalyptus trees that have dark honey-like sap that smells like turpentine mixed with benzene? We went on vacation recently and visited an arboretum of multiple types of trees, and there was a variety that was incredibly tall and straight from Australia and it had sap that was like nothing I’d ever seen before on any eucalyptus I’m familiar with. We have eucalyptus around here, but they smell good, to me anyway, but those trees smelled very different and very strong.

PS. A bunch of people need to be told “get out of my swamp” here in NorCal…

I’m giving the paint a day or so to cure before assembly this weekend.
