That works. Now put big windows in them and get rid of 75% of the weight.

Agreed, but will have to probably wait till the 2.0 update as I don't have a mill or lathe yet and the sparce time I get access on them means I need to build the required parts as quickly as possible.

I like your approach with the hubs and rotors. Straightforward and easy (for us) to duplicate.

Had to modify a couple fasteners for the rotors as they were too close to the bolt holes that mount the adapter plate to the hubs.
Well rotors didn't run true after I mounted them up so I thru a dial indicator on the mount plate and spun the hub. It appears the mount plate is being pulled out of true as the hubs are not machined on the back side. I will either have to shim the mount plate or machine the back side of the hubs to get the rotors straight. The dial indicator said one side was .035" out and the other was .048" from the high to low spots.

Looks like version 2.0 of this buggy may happen sooner than I had expected. A bit dirty and needs some lube but should be a workhorse. The guy I bought it from used to build motors for dirt track oval racers and was a machinist at work with me years ago.

Got the mill leveled, power run to it and spent some time cleaning all the old dirt and oil off most of it. Was finally able to use it on the build and cut a flat surface on the back side of the front hubs so I can mount the rotors and have them run true.
Cast parts machine like crap! That and my used, old, worn out mill bits could use being replaced...

Could have shimmed the back side of the rotor mount plate but this became a pretty good option with the new equipment Desert Panther based (loosely) 2 seater

It's always hard for me to get a feel for the overall look and size of the buggy until I pull it out of my small shop and and step back and take a look at it. Still a long way to go but being able to push it out and see it from a distance gives some motivation.

Looks like a nice bit of weather to be working on it. Keep up the good work!
