Wheels - I actually got some time this weekend to sit down and work on the CAD model, basically I updated the rear swingarm to be wider, moving the shocks outward so I can accommodate the 4kwh of battery sitting sideways. This will allow me to stack a 2nd 4kwh of battery behind it giving 8 total if I want. Having the first 4kwh sideways puts the CG forward giving me even better weight distribution. I still need to get the front spindles designed up to work with my new A-arm design, so I should be able to get working on that this week.

I had also began contemplating what it would take to make the thing street legal.. since it would be fun to be able to drive it to work! The biggest hurdle is the design calls for a solid rear axle... which by the law I actually need to have a differential in there to legalize it for road use. I know comet made those little aluminum units with axles but I have one and they don't appear nearly tough enough. Anyone seen anything that could be used as a solid axle style diff? Could make just build a differential looking can thing to mount beside the sprocket and take one of the hub keys out so it "appears" to have a diff and turns easily?

Sorry for not being quicker with an update! I have been working on another electric dirtbike so the electric buggy has been put on hold. Some of you guys might remember my 1st E dirt bike build, this next one is basically double the horsepower and is in a modern chassis. I don't have any images loaded to a file sharing service but you can see progress if you jump on SSE Sires Systems Engineering on facebook. I'm ALSO working on an electric tracked vehicle design that would also likely bump the electric buggy in terms of priority... It will use a single Tesla Model 3 lithium module which is about 20kwh giving it upwards of 100miles range. I may start a thread for that one sometime soon here for some feedback on the design/concept.

That frame is a YZ450F - the goal is for it to have as much power as a stock 450f. I'm a member of an electric motorcycle build group on facebook as well, I did see that within the last few months or so a gentlemen posted a build of a 4 wheeler using the same motor I had specified for the mini buggy (different controller and not sure what batteries). I think he used a YFZ450 chassis, and it absolutely rips as an electric. The bike build I'm really struggling to package the batteries properly - the goal was to have them easily able to swap in/out which is a big issue with an Alta redshift (not to mention they are out of business...).

I checked out your website. Very cool stuff.

If you happen to come across a link to the quad build please post it here.

I'll take a look to see if I can find it .My patients is usually pretty short with FB though.

Doh! I dont know the name of the motorcycle build club? lol!
