Hey no problem. I figured you would like that build thread as it's basically the rear engine mount your going for. Plus with no front mofor, you can shrink the front frame to your fee width and make the suspension much more narrower than a car like mine.

Mine is close to 72 wide. Need to get the right wheels and take off my hub adapters... should be 70 inch or near there.

The 4 link I have tied in to the frame quite well. Easy too.

Back from the dead! After lots of contemplating different possibilities, considering where and how it will be used, and getting really honest about my own fabrication abilities, we decided to go the old school VW buggy route. I know the old air cooled VWs were about 50hp and I figured that would be just right for this build. I gave him his car for his 10th birthday back in December and we've been putting a lot of work into it over the past few months. I know this probably isn't really in line with most of the builds here and this isn't a "VW" site, but I'll continue to post pictures and update the thread as we go if there is any interest. We've decided that we want to have a replica Hot Wheels "Rip Rod" when we're finished.

Here he is when I gave it to him for his 10th birthday last month.

The ultimate goal is to have something along the lines of this. Appearance wise anyway.

I'll catch y'all up a little bit. After researching, I decided to go with a late model VW IRS rear and an early model king pin trailing arm front. I found a guy selling some old VW stuff on craigslist a couple of hours down the road and picked it up for a pretty good price.

He and his Pawpaw got right to work on getting it stripped down and ready for us to put the off-road suspension on it.
