    Bingo!
    this is where I’d start.

Too much leverage and not enough stroke.

This was the original pedal ratio. Thanks guys for the help and expertise. I raised the pedal up and re drilled a hole in the pedal. Brought a ton more pedal feeling and way better brake pressure! Thanks for the help, I’ll get a picture of the new pedal ratio when I get the bracket welded and braces!

Dash is the next project. Really starting to feel like the finishing part of the buggy is coming along. All the mechanical parts are in working order!

Anyone have any input for building body panels/dash/skid plates? I plan to use 1/8” aluminum plate for the skid plate and dash and 16guage for the side panels and hood.

The dash will now bend and “wrap around” in the front right where the cardboard is cut. Still need to finish the cardboard template then I will transfer to aluminum.

1/8” is good for the skid plate - it will deform when bouncing off of stuff, though.

Can you drop to 1/16 for the dash? Lighter, much easier to work with. 3000 or 5000 series. 5000 has a tad more spring back. I’m playing with .045 5000 series presently. Easy to work with.

If the 1/8” will deform, do you just recommend going a bit heavier or using a different material than aluminum?

I could go with the 16 gauge stuff I have for the dash. I wasn’t sure if the 16 gauge (~0.051”) would rattle and shake too much causing all the electrical components mounted to it to vibrate? If I have enough screws holding the aluminum dash plate on I guess it’ll be fairly rigid.

I ended up using 3/8” UHMW plastic https://www.minibuggy.net/forum/proj...tml#post333295

    Nah, it won’t vibrate.

Nice! Good call. Thanks a lot I’ll go with the 16 gauge and look into a plastic skid plate R1 Single Seat Mini Build!

Great work with the brake lines 👍

As for the skid plate I used 4mm ally which is roughly 0.15 if I am correct, and my skid plate has copped a hiding.
Pending what you are going to use your buggy for and what terrain it will go through I defiantly wouldn’t go to thin.

Can’t wait to see this thing finished!
