Good call. I have seen many aftermarket SXS arms what come bent the other way to allow for extra clearance. I assumed it would be okay if braced properly but you are right, I think it’ll be a higher stress point than if the arm was straight.
However, I put a bend in it to allow for CV clearance at full droop. If you look at the full droop CAD photo above, the CV joint would contact the lower control arm without the bend. An alternative is to have a straight control arm with a large cut out between the two lower arm heims to allow for clearance with the CV.
