This dual sport buggy is my 5th model and will be my personal buggy.i have been working on this project for a couple of months when i had spare time.I will be using this buggy for the sand,so it will be as light as possible and built from 4130 cromoly as all my buggies are.It will have a turbo hayabusa with a lot of mods I will post as i build the engine.I will use my reverse box with my dual chain drive setup and also machine a midboard/centre board rear hub setup for the rear with 32" long axles, also the body will be fiberglass with all the panels being curved and not flat.there will be head lights built in the hood.
The front travel will be 22" with 12"tripple tube bippass shocks and the rear travel will be 24" with 16" tripple tube king shocks.
The wheel base is 108" with a track width on the front of 82" and the rear width of 89" with the paddle tires.
The front suspension is the same geometry as my desert buggy with the bulk head and boxed lower arms, tube J arm style upper arm which i will change later to a billit aluminum arm when i get time to machine it.The front arms travel on a 11 degree angle to deflect over the bumps.the knuckles are the tee pee style with uniballs as you would see in a class 1 buggy.
The radiator is mounted on the rear, and covered with a curved shroud.
I will be using the electra power steering,I hope to get that today as i have been waiting for that for over a month and has delayed the build.
I have built the plug for the body from sheet metal wood and 8 gallons of bondo,i will then make a mold off that and then build a body from the mold.

Wow.. that is some great info and is going to be one impressive car!
The pics are small but the info with the pics helps thanks.. dang you made a wood plug body?? wow.. impressive can't wait to see the finished body.. dang

Sounds great and as I have seen your other cars and really like them I am sure this one will be awesome and really stand out with all the extra details, work and parts your using on it.

Also I would love to see a pic of this midboard/center board hub set up..
And triple bypass up front.. nice.. that will be a great riding car once you dial it all in.. very nice.

I really look forward to seeing more of your car.
    Thanks for sharing.

Nice to see you sharing a build tom! Your buggies are sick! I have always really dug your large passenger area designs. I just hope you take the time to show us some of your tricks etc. I am particularly excited to see the details of this buggy taking shape.

Here are some pictures of the plug and of the fiberglass body.I got my power steering on friday and finished the chassis,it will go to powder coat tomorrow.I will be assembling my engine and gear box this week while my CNC mill will be machining the rear mid board hubs.I am sick of sanding bondo and primer but am very happy with how the body has come out.
