What's cool is, I am now re-building one right now for my kids! Just picked up the motor, and am buying hubs, bearings and all the parts to put it back together! I should start a build thread, eh.

Ha that's so cool seeing all of them ripping around at once.
Sounds like our race karts, when you get a bunch together running you get that kind of thumping noise from the pack of single cylinders.
What RPM do you run them up to, ours we take to 7500, but that's with billet rod and flywheel, ported heads and valvetrain upgrades, bigger carbs, exhaust, custom cams etc.
Edge Piranha with Sled Engine, 2 Margay sprint race karts, and a couple of fun Karts
