600cc HO sled engine vs *600cc street bike engine?

One needs to be shifted and one doesn't?

I think your question is not specific enough. *Do you mean acceleration? Handling?

I think you will get away with less weight with the sled engine so HP-weight ratio may be better? *Is there any engines in particular that you are comparing? *Your question is very broad.

    sorry yes.......
im in canada and sled engines are available much more than bike engines.

ive found two 600cc sled engines complete id like to use in the two buggies im building....

but just loved the acceleration of the videos i see with buggys running CBR 600 bike engines

I fear of buying the sled engines and being disapointed with the acceleration .....

600cc sled engines are at least half price as well.....

You wont be disapointed, you can clutch it to put your balls in your back pocket if you need to, but at the same time i think you will loose a bit on top, buggys arent about top end speed tho....

Been in both a Busa (shift, shift, shift) powered Coyote and an Apex (CVT) Powered Coyote - The CVT car pulls the Busa up the dunes every time and the Busa has more HP. *The CVT does a more efficient job of transferring the power as it goes "thru the gears". *It's not by much, though. *Performance wise, they're very similar.

I have a KZ650 street bike engine in a pretty light weight buggy and own a few sleds (800, 600 & 500). *I have had the motors out of both and my 800 rotax engine weighs about 75# vs. that boat anchor 4cyl 4 stroke thats 150# at least.

The 800 sled will do around 90mph, get there quick and has a 151" track that weighs about 65# plus snow weight and sliding resistance, they have the power. *The nice thing about the CVT, when you get it set up right, you are ALWAYS in the powerband with the motor.

The only hang up I have with the sled motors is pipe fittment. *Those twin expansion chambers hog up a ton of space and they need to be designed right for the engine to run correctly.

Another big plus for sled engine is electronic reverse on the 03 and later ski doos and 05 and later Polaris motors. * Simple and no added weight.

Is the CBR600 a four-stroke? *Is the 600cc sled engine a two-stroke? *Apples to oranges comparason if that is the case. * Nobody mentioned fuel mileage or maintenance differences with either engine yet. *On average, the two-stroke will eat about double the fuel (sometimes triple) what a comparable four-stroke gets for gas mileage. * If you have a small gas tank, you could be the first one in your group who needs to turn back for more fuel. *

I'm happy with my four-stroke sled engine. *
