I cannot seem to find the width of the driver and driven clutches. Unfortunately my project is just in the parts gathering phase and the 780 is the CVT I'll be getting as well, since all others do not seem to be sold by online retailers.

Will do. If I can I'll ask around too. I know Greg at Red Beard's Garage has the 780 on his mini buggy build, I'll try to shoot him a message. Since we know the diameter of the clutches all you need is the width, would you need it with our without spacers?

The spacers push the clutches out from rubbing on the Engine case / backing plate right? So with spacers?

    Thx

Correct. They are also used to help align the driver and driven so the belt doesn't wear out faster on one side because of a misalignment.

Check out this posting of my CVT. Notice the backing plate and how the belt become misaligned.

If possible, I'd do a jack shaft and have the driven orientated the way it's supposed to be.

So I couldn't get an answer from Red Beard's Garage, however Vasily Custom Builds is also running a 780. He said that it'll depend on the driven (it came in like 3 or 4 different diameter sizes), however they are about 3 or so inches wide at idle.

Whats the widest it gets? Need it, because I'm trying to fit a decent amount of stuff in a small-ish space, and don't want the belt or clutches rubbing on anything. Whats the width of the clutches mounting? Like how far apart can you mount them, with the belt, I know you can get different size belts, but whats the common size?
