I have a 2006 R1 engine in my buggy. At about half to full throttle the engine will cut out and then back on. It idles fine and below half throttle it runs good. I'm using an inline fuel pump rated at 45psi. Any ideas what could be causing this? Thanks.

The pump is rated at 45 PSI, but have you checked to see if it produces that? Do you know what the stock pump produced?

I haven't checked to see if it produces 45psi. I believe the stock pump produces 42-43 psi. I'll need to get a fuel pressure gauge. Thanks

If you have the stock tank and pump, is there any way to hook it up for a test?

    Always start with diagnostic codes.

what you’re describing can be anything from a faulty fuel pump or clogged filter to a faulty tip sensor to about a thousand other things.

I have the exact same engine in my Buggy. Im not experiencing the same Problem but my issue was the tip over sensor. My engine would run for 2 seconds and die, I figured out my tip over sensor was not in the up position which caused this. Maybe yours is just on the edge of level? Depending where its sitting? Otherwise, I would think it is a fuel pressure issue. Like you stated, a fuel pressure gauge would help you diagnose.

fuel pressure needs to be at the 45psi at full throttle under full load, I had a clogged pickup screen which caused a similar issue.
