I went to drive the buggy today and the shop smelled like gas. After inspecting, i found that the gas tank is leaking at the bung. So, i am wondering what i can use to seal the threads or bugn to the tank.

I googled it earlier and saw some people have used permatex #3. Anyone have experience with that?

Another buddy suggested jb weld... but i dont know much about it.

    Any thoughts?

Unfortunately, if it starts leaking while running, i could end up with a fire bc of the location. I may have to rethink the tank location. Thanks for the feedback Taz... looks like jb is out.

Teflon tape, maybe. Permatex #2 is fuel proof. I have used it with good results, it's just messy as hell. Do not use any type of silicone, it will not last.
