So I'm new to supercharger and have been doing all the research I can but there's not a lot out there for motorcycle engines being supercharged. The region I want a supercharger over a turbo is because I want more low end power for trail riding and crawling as my buggy will be 4wd but capable of duning as well. I don't want to fork over a few grand for the nytro charger so I've been looking at some small car chargers. Subaru's amr 300/500 chargers are catching my eye but I don't know exactly what to look for when looking at the chargers. So any help would be greatly appreciated!

Ones with an internal bypass valve like Toyota's use will give a lot better snap off the bottom. You will need one off a motor that is approximately twice the size of your bike motor. Bike motors spin faster and move more air than a similar sized car motor.

Not a fan of the belt driven centrifugal chargers. A positive displacement blower will give much better bottom end.

If the car motor displacement is the same and the only difference is rpm then wouldn't the charger continue to move enough air as the bike motor surpasses the car motors max rpm limit? I'll look into positive displacement blowers though. Thanks!

    Just found this site!

The amr500 is a mini roots charger. I think it should work! Anyone know max recommended boost for a stock 2012 r1 motor?

You can only spin a blower so fast. On stock auto apps, you can only over drive them 10-15% before you run into over speed issues. When you install it you will need to figure out the max RPM of the unit and size your pulleys accordingly. This will let you get your desired boost level without over speeding it.

Max RPM on that unit is 16K. With your 13750 redline that gives you about a 1.15-1 pulley ratio. Since it is a 500CC per revolution blower, it might net you a couple pounds of boost at redline. You need a bigger blower.

You should be able to run 5-6PSI on a stock motor with an FMU to take care of the fuel. Not sure how the ECU will react to pressure. Might need a Power commander to take care of that.........

Something like this would be a better fit.

Edit: It is an Eaton M90.

Did you check out that site? It said it could produce 8-9psi for a 1000cc motor. But I'll take your word for it since there wasn't much reference for their statements.

What about this one? I want one that I can just mount and bolt the intake tubes to it.
