Hey everyone have a piranha with a 700 Yamaha fazer been sitten up this winter every year have to change the plugs just to get it running so i changed the plugs just can't get it to start. Removed the carbs and check them they looked ok was wondering what the compression is for this motor ?

you also need to do a crank seal test (google it )and yes you can rebuild it. The top end is simple. The crank bearings and seals ,alittle more involved but still pretty simple.Theres just not a whole lot to a 2smoke motor. after the comp. test and crank seal test, you will know how much to do. If the comp. is below 120 you may be able to just do a good hone job to remove glazing from the cyl. walls and put new rings on the original pistons and get the comp back up some. If the comp. is way low, have the cyl bored out and get oversized pistons and rings. If the motor has lots of miles on it ,check out the crank bearings . You dont want to beef up the top end if your bottom end is tired . Good luck with comp test

It's a four stroke Yamaha fazer bike motor sorry not a two stoke sorry if I didn't describe it well . It has four cilinders what would be compression for this motor . Are you talking about a sled motor would like one of those I here they go!!!

Looks like you need to steel sleeve or renickasel (sp) the cylinder.

I like a steel sleeve. You are into the AL cyl. wall. Wont last much longer..

Al cyl walls. Think Vega... Are you that old??

    Can you get new cyl.???
