2007 Yamaha Apex Engine 3,200 miles 150 HP

I do have an engine that would be prime for someone that wants to build it up for racing. The engine core is in great shape, however it has some minor damage on one of the pistons, which is why I'm saying it'd be perfect for someone looking to build it up and modify the crap out of it.

It only had 3,200 miles on it, all synthetic amsoil fluids. Just a stupid mistake at not looking carefully at each of the plugs and realizing that the auto shop gave me all 4 correct boxes, but one of the plugs wasn't the same model and ended up being 2mm longer than the others. Needless to say, the spark plug dented the top of the piston on one cylinder. The head is fine. The engine still runs fine, however, you would want to have this fixed in order to have full power again.

What would be needed to bring it back to stock:
    a) re-plate cylinder $300
    b) piston and rings $150
    c) valve $30
    d) guide $30
    e) gasket kit $60

Everything else checks out fine with the engine in the tests that they ran it through.

I'm looking to get $1,800 plus S/H. I would be willing to ship worldwide if needed, but please contact me first so I can get you an accurate quote. If in the US, it will be roughly $200 for s/h.

If you have any questions on this, give me a call at 414-435-0548.

Also, if you need the other parts, fuel injectors, electronics, wiring harnesses, etc, please email me at tmamayek@gmail.com and I'll get you a quote with everything. Please include your shipping zip code so I can get an accurate quote for you.

That sucks. Have you talked to the shop that sold you the wrong plug. That would be a great buggy engine. I have the same engine in my rx1 and attack and it hauls a$$, but having said that I would have (as many others would also)a problem buying a engine that doesn't run properly, especialy for $1800. If it's still good, why don't you just fix it and use it. Good luck on the sale.

I reserve the right to change my mind if someone can prove to me it needs replacing.

Sarcasim is my weapon of choice.

The reason I didn't have it fixed and just keep using it is that this happened my first trip up north for snowmobiling this year. I happened to be parting out a different Apex which had a good engine, and in order to get back up and riding ASAP, I just put that engine in instead.

The guys at the performance shop, said that I'd be better off finding someone who was going to bore out the engine anyways, since they'd have to do all of this anyways.

Please make an offer, and if you need any other parts, let me know what you all need and I'll work with you on it. I'm trying to be as up front and honest with the sale of this engine so that way you don't get the engine and are pissed. Someone told me I should just sell it as a working good engine, but I can't ethically do that. I can guarantee that it will work in it's current condition, just like I said, you're not going to be getting the usual performance until it's fixed.

How much does it weigh? Cause if it need $1000 in repairs scap metal price is all its worth. Part out all the good pieces of engine, sell of elec stuff seperatly.
