    Pie in the sky ideas

Ok guys, I'm always one for coming up with some wild ideas that are not only unique but would be kick ass in the sand. One idea I've been kicking around for years is a 200 to 300 HP V-6, 2 stroke outboard boat motor rigged up to a front wheel drive car transmission. The ultimate goal is light weight, and lots of horsepower. Of course, unless someone were to drop one of these motors off at my door for free, I'm more prone to follow a tried and true idea. Any other fun ideas out there?

this idea has been tried in the netherlands for offroad racing. the great problem is cooling those motors . it wont work with a radiator .those engins uses water from the river for cooling.

I want to build an electric buggy. The motor technology is there, but the battery / energy supply technology is not. It could probably work for short course racing, but not as a play car where a longer run time is needed.

An electric drag racing buggy would kick some tail.

American Choppers just did an electric drag bike. It was pretty wicked - and very weirdly quiet.

The three phase electric motors that are being used have instant torque curve - it's generally pretty much a flat line and loads of it.

Most outboard motors are rated (hp) in stock trim. There was a guy around here in Lake County that had a complete set of tuned pipes (V6) on his boat. Don't know how much more power he got, but it was one of the most wicked things I've ever heard.

That electric bike grabbed a record as well, it was kinda scary to watch the guys light it up
