I am plugging along on my Busa ELTORO tryin to get it done by Memorial Day, and they guy I purchased it from gave me an aftermarket Oil Cooler. I notice that King sells blank offs....So should I run the Cooler or not. The Radiator I have is off a Honda, and it looks to have a built in Tranny cooler (it has two brass nipples on the bottom of it), so if I need to run the cooler, Can I just use that????

Off of the top of my head I will say no, the pressures are different. I do not think that the tank in the Honda radiator would last. I do run an oil cooler on my rail. I installed a small fan but I discovered that the busas' alternator just doesn't put out enough wattage to run everything AND charge the battery. I solved this by wiring the oil cooler fan into the water fan relay.

I solved it by running the oil cooler under the radiator and piggy backing off the radiator fan...

you can't run the cooler through the rad! if you open those up, rad fluid pours out. So you'd be pumping radiator fluid into your trans. Yoshi's set us is the best way. You can pick up oil coolers pretty cheap

I have run with and with out one.....if you dont run one you will have hotter water temps.
Personally I wouldnt run w/o one unless its only for a short period of time.
And like said before dont use the one built internally into the radiator.

The built in tranny coolers also don't flow enough to support an engine.

    ???
I agree a factory stock radiator automatic tranny cooler cannot flow much oil. In the cars they flow just enough fluid to try to remove heat.

But I don't understand what greasemnky said above. If radiator fluid pours out the tranny cooling holes its due to the units been punctured or failed internally somehow.
Now that NOBAMA has PROVEN he is the absolute WORST president in the history of history Jimmy Carter can thank him for stealing the dunce crown.

Lets hope the next guy repeals NObama care along with the rest of the stupid crap this blight on our windshield has done.

    Mine is piggybacked like Yoshi's.

Does your H2O radiator have enough cooling capacity? Have you read Standfast's thread?

Ok, I will run it. Its about a third the size of yosi's. But its set up the same way, to piggy back (front) off the Rad and fan setup. I hope its got enough flow, I will check out that thread. I have heard of a couple guys running them.

Will the rad fluid melt pvc fittings (ie to make a 90 degree bend) on the radiator hose? or should I use brass?
