yea, I've been getting the same thing - just did, as a matter of fact.

The server sent out a notification of a patch that needs to be implemented (I was just reading it - realizing I have NO clue what they're talking about). I'll be making a phone call later today, as per the e-mail's instructions to those of us that have no clue. They have great customer service, thank goodness

    How's the site working today?
I know we were all getting database error issues and it was slooooooowwww to load at times.

It's now been upgraded to the latest vB 3.8.7
    The database was cleaned up
ALL THE DROP DOWN MENUS WORK AGAIN!!!

Let me know if you find anything else that needs attention. Seems that the upgrade's fixed 90% of the issues.

Looks like the busy server issues were coming from China - the site was being hit by a bunch of servers out of that country. So, since I don't think we have any Chinese members, I had MBN's server set up the fire wall so that China is now blocked. That should keep the slow and/or no response issues down.

Only four months later and I'm finally getting a hand on how to run this place. Whew.

Don't know if it's just me, but "Shop Talk" forum only displays threads with comments i haven't read. If i read them, exit the forum and re-enter through the forum title, then there's nothing in the forum. example ...right now only bullnerd's "welding Tips & Tricks" post is in the forum even though the "new to buggys" thread shows as the latest thread in the forum when i'm on the forum index. if i click on the new to buggy's link on the index page, it will take me to that thread. if i click on Shop Talk to enter the forum, it doesn't show up at all. The forum's been that way for me through two different computers.

AH COOL!!! I fixed it! I wonder how it ended up that way? - was set so it only showed current threads. Once click and it's back to normal.

I like it when it's simple (and I can actually figure it out that easily).

Is the time issue something you can fix? I want those 4 hours of my life back.

I've not been able to figure that one out. I've played with the time settings of the board, but it doesn't seem to help. I'll go in and mess with it again.
