That is what I like to refer to as the worst rear suspension design ever.

I didn't say it was the worst.Just about as close as you can get and some things are just apparent without needing to be tried or tested..Probably works for its application.Light duty usage I'd guess.Huh?

Some Baja SAE teams use that type (I call it the 1 link) rear suspension setup. *It works for lightweight cars, but obviously has extreme amounts of camber change throughout the travel and cannot have very long travel because of that reason. *Also the axle is taking most of the lateral load during cornering, thus wearing out joints quicker, and the axle is also taking the shock loads as well. *It probably works ok for pure sand cars that don't do any jumping, but I would not use it on anything else.

    Looks pretty sweet too

Ooops, this is what *happens when the 1-link fails

I have seen that XTC rear end live behind some serious horsepower dragging in the Silverlake sand dunes. It is limited on travel and handling but for straight up dragging it can take it. 1300 turbos and nitrous. Not much beating some of those *down the strip. *Its really not much different than the first short Sand cars rear in Utah. They used U-joints and XTC used Cv's. XTC started toying in a decent looking longtravel with two joints in the drive shafts to keep the wheels positioned better. It looked nice but I have not checked up on them in a long while. XTC's biggest issues was its FRONT suspension (Old school. cannot speak for the new long travel.) *That was the bad end. Bill
Now that NOBAMA has PROVEN he is the absolute WORST president in the history of history Jimmy Carter can thank him for stealing the dunce crown.

Lets hope the next guy repeals NObama care along with the rest of the stupid crap this blight on our windshield has done.
