The site got hit by a spammer a couple days ago.

Thank you to, I believe it was Tenaja, for reporting it. *(If I got that wrong, sorry...)

It was a guest post. (still a hole in the system somewhere?)

If anyone sees a spam post, please report it immediately and we'll squash it.

To do so, just hit the little exclamation mark you see in the upper right hand corner of the post's window. *This will flag the admins that there's something amuck.

I should have checked the IP address and then blocked it, but I wasn't thinking that far ahead. *I'll be a bit more on top of it next time.

    Thanks guys!

Working on tracking down this hole. As soon as the site is relocated this will be the next todo item. I have two requests out for support on this issue.

This issue has been fixed, I hope. The "anon" group (hidden group used for guest) did not have a Group ID associated with it. Permissions are checked against group ID when user attempts to post. To resolve this a script was run to associate all users and groups to a group ID. Still researching other ways guest could circumvent the security settings of the site to make post.

    K-Fab,
Im having this same issue on a website and forum i built for a friend.
I used PHPBB for the forum.
I did get rid of the spammers by adding a math question to registry but about once a day he's still getting a guest posting his spam junk...
I havent found a fix for this yet....
