Has anyone ever used the VIN tubes from a wrecked RZR or other sxs in their chassis so that they can register their buggy as a highly modified RZR?

Haven't people been doing that with VW VIN numbers in their sand rails for years?

thats the only way I'd do it, closest thing to legit! Or you could build a custom buggy and make it look like a RZR, then get an ownership and go from there. I've seen that done.

Call your DMV, in my state we can get a vin and title issued on a home built "off road" vehicle pretty easy. It doesnt take long.

I 2nd calling your DMV. I've seen lots of vin swaps from vw's and some from totaled rzrs - but in my state it's actually quite easy to get a vin and title issued if you document the build and keep all your receipts to prove ownership and value. Of course insurance then becomes an issue as in some locations it's harder to get for home built vehicles than others. Where are you located BuggyGT?

I'm from Minnesota. They have some verbiage in their law that discludes dune buggies from being considered an ATV. So I hate to show up at the DMV to get registered and they call it a dune buggy because it's home made. You guys are right, calling to get clarification would make things easier.

When I say ATV, we have class 1 atvs which are the old standard ATV, then we have class 2 ATVs which are the side by side.

I know my DMV wanted to see receipts, I showed the ones that proved I paid taxes on the purchase. For instance the receipt from the metal supply, obviously I didnt show any invoice from online purchases. They are looking for any $ they can charge you

Plus here, I dont need to carry insurance on a off road vehicle, unless its financed through a bank.
