Not looking forward to the learning curve... that held me back for the longest time with a welder. once I got one, it was a bit more simple than I expected. still hard to learn to do it right... but, you know what I mean.

Xbird... I've had good luck with my Pro-tools bender.

I've also had good luck with my Pro-tools bender. I made some mounts to converted it to use one of the 8 ton harbor freight air over rams. It's almost a pleasure to use, now.

Once you have a knee mill, you'll wonder how you got anything made before. We have moved into CNC territory now but I still use our bridgeport weekly. It makes an awesome drill press. So much that I've put our actual drill press in storage to free up the floor space. If you don't have a lathe, that will probably end up being next after the mill.

problem i have is that it's a one-shot project (sure it is LOL) need to make a 2" OD tube cage, 1/8th wall. really only need 4 bends for the main hoop. the rest i can mitre and fit. bender and die is going to run me more than the steel. trying to find someone local that can handle the 2".

I'm pretty sure the racing is helping you think of ways to improve the cage/suspension/etc. on the buggy. bender might come in handy. just sayin'. lol.

I've had pretty good luck with my Everlast plasma cutter. I don't use it a lot, but it fires up and works just fine every time I need it.

I got the CNC version, then just bought another torch for it for hand cutting. Someday I'll finish my plasma table...

For other tools, and of the more modest variety, Milwaukee has released some nifty looking cordless buggers I've added to my Christmas list...

I too have heard some very good home reviews of that everlast plasma. That is on my list of my next purchase.

I just bought a new set of bead rolling dies, so I have that going for me. LOL

I will have to checkout the everlast plasma. As for beadrolling... i have always thought it would be cool to do it. Looks like it would be tough to make repeat beads though.
