So we all know that PB has recently decided to give everyone the shaft and screw up all our nice build threads! Well if you've been over to mine, you'll notice all my pictures are working again. That's because I switched all of my photos over to imgur. Its free, easier, and faster than PB ever was. I see that a lot of threads still have dead images, and I couldn't find a thread that announced an alternative, so I figured I'd post this for anyone who hasn't found something else. If this thread exists already and I'm blind as a bat, take'r down.

    All you have to do:

    1. Create an account
    2. Login

    3. Hover over your name in the top right corner, a drop down will appear.
    4. Choose 'images'

    5. Click the big green 'Add Images' button, then click Browse, or drag photos from a folder into the box.
***Once uploaded you can organize them into albums, but I'll leave that to you guys to tinker with, it isn't necessary to just post photos***

    6. Click the photo you uploaded and want to link
    7. The picture will pop up with several links to the right of the picture
    8. Find the BBCode (message boards & forums) and click 'Copy' next to it.
***You can choose the size of the linked image at the bottom, under all of the URLs, Original is usually too big****

    9. Paste that URL where you want in your build!

    Done! Simple and Easy!

As far as I know, imgur will always be free because of the popularity and ad revenue, and I don't see an image limit either. Hopefully this helps.

Put the checkbooks back down fellas

I wonder if there is a stat some where that shows how many new users Imgur has gained in the last few months? LOL!

    Thanks Monkey.

Now, can we do a mass switch of files from PB to Imgur?

I've noticed that new postings typically feature pictures hosted on Imgur. I also went looking for PB alternatives and bookmarked a site that listed Imgur, among others, that host images for free.

I have it on my "to do" list to pull my photos off PB, re-post to Imgur, or whatever else looks good, and get my photo links updated on this site. Soon. Very soon.

PB has an option to download entire albums so I did that with all of my albums (buggy, motorcycle, blaster) and then you can select all the images at once to upload to imgur in one go! It might take a bit to upload hundreds of pictures, but its easier than adding them one at a time!

I would also like to add that the download entire album feature on PB was not working for me, it kept erroring out their server connection, so I had to manually download them, but they could have had high traffic at the time I was attempting to do it.

I also uploaded my images to imgur in chunks in case something went wrong with the upload, but I never had a problem and everything uploaded perfectly.

    Awesome, thanks again Monkey.

My sister is photog nut, she has been using imgur for a long time. I should have listened to her.

OK Monkey, your going to have to hold my hand through this! I cant find anywhere to download a whole album on PB?

There is no download album button!

uhhhhh it looks like they removed that option.... these guys really know how to make people's lives hard....

    Before

    Now...

And I literally did this a few weeks ago....

The only way of doing it now (to my knowledge) is to open each photo in a new tab (Right Click image, Open link in a new tab. OR hold down CTRL and Left Click each image) and open each tab, Right Click the image, 'Save image as'.... It's tedious but that's how I had to do it.
