Some of you may remember this truck. A buddy of mine picked it up last week before the 500. He also owns Mickey Thompson's Challenger IV.

It will get a full restore and probably make NORRA 2018. I don't think he has enough time to make it to the 17 race, I'm not around to help him out anymore..........

I follow that dude on IG. He seems really cool and does some great projects.

I just saw the other day that he finally got the truck. Will be cool to see some up close pictures of that thing.

I doubt your friends with him though.

Is that why you moved to tornado alley BDK? Couldn't make friends in Cali?

    Nah, I dont think so.

Awesome, that is a nice piece of history there, what a streak of luck to find it.

That truck had a huge impact on Me, I remember watching it go by with that little 4 banger wound tight.

10 years later I had this....

Muahahaha! I just wanted to see how you'd respond! Perfect!

Same here dude! I used to stare at those fenders in the Downey Toyota catalog and dream. Had an 89 reg cab short bed....but never built it.

BTW...did he do the renderings in the Downey catalog? They look like his artwork. If I'm thinking of the right guy.

    Yes, you seem to!
    And know everywhere too.

I spent 30 or more minutes under it. It was on display at a CART race at Mid-Ohio. Someone from security finally walked up and asked me to move.

I think Dave Deal did the Downey catalog. My first toy had a Downey front kit on it. Bent the crap out of the upper arms LOL........
