I have no idea how much Hexavalent Chromium and lead paint and what ever else my lungs have filtered over 30 years of welding.

I have a speed glass PAPR welding hood now that I use at work .....
You don't smell a thing..... even without the face seal.

This. In a few months when everyone has stopped posting on this thread and it isnt on the surface of the site, anyone new will most likely not see it. There should be a section in the 'Buggy Build Talk' called something along the lines of what Sandblast suggested, 'Safety Issues' or 'Safety Concerns'

For the moment, I'm going to move this thread to the Minibuggy Lounge section and sticky it there. It's the place on the forum that has the highest volume of traffic.

I can also copy it to some other sections - say the fab section and ???

I should just cut/paste the text out of the link - that way it's not a link, but the direct info. I'll contact the owner of the linked site and ask for his permission.
