My bad, sorry, I was in a hurry, I should have explained my comment a little better.

Nothing wrong with the clamp, but it looks like its attached to a piece of plate covered with mill scale or paint or something? You'll get better results with it clamped to a cleaner/bare steel surface.

No worries mate, welcome to MBN.

Yeah, the Megladon dude was here for a while but then disapeared? Cool to have someone building one here.

yea the plate its clamped to in the pic is a bit rusty.. I've aslo had a bit of a problem with my mig welding coming out a bit bubbly which i would really like to improve. I'll upload a pic of some welds on the weekend to see if anyone has some suggestions to improve.

Welcome aboard! Been wanting to see a Megalodon build.

Dont be affraid to deviate from the plans in areas like wall thickness. .083 IS pretty thin, if you went up a size it would be stronger, and yes heavier too. I wouldn't deviate in areas like steering geometry or anything, but use your best judgement.

Okay I snapped a couple pics of some welds that I did and well... they're ugly.. Hopefully some of you have some suggestions to improve and if all esle fails i'll probably just TIG weld the whole thing which will take painfully long
