    Craigslist!!!???

I am new to Craigslist and do not do PayPal.
I recent placed an ad to sell a dirt bike and set of Centerline off road wheels and tires that I used on my sandcar when I took it to the desert.
The Dirt bike sold fast and I just listed the Centerlines.
In the last 3 days I have received 4 texts the basically say the same thing.
"I am offering you full price, I will pay via PayPal and will send a courier to pick up the items."
I can see that the phone numbers are not from the typical off roading states, so I respond by asking what do you plan on doing with the wheels and tires more out of curiosity than interrogation.
The question does not get answered and they try to hurry thru the deal.
I tell them nothing will be picked up by a "courier" until I have cash in hand. Click; end of discussion.
I offer them to wire the money to my bank or I can accept Visa thru my business.
One refused verbal communication by telling me he was deaf, another the English was so difficult that texting was better.
All of them the texting was misspelled, incomplete sentences, who knows what for abbreviations and missing punctuation.
All of which is understandable if you are using voice texting.
Seems like if you want me to trust the deal, you would be on your best behavior with the English language.
So I am new to Craigslist and now know what Spamming looks like.
Is that the electronic communication word for dishonesty?
Obviously spamming works with some sellers, otherwise they would not be trying.
I thought PayPal was safe for both the buyer and seller even though Craigslist says not to deal with those you do not know.
Please enlighten me on what Spammers are getting away with and how?
There must be some way to cheat PayPal so the seller does not get real money from his/her PayPal account.
    Thanks
    Herman

PS how was my use of the english language?

    Definitely a scam.

    Your English is great.

If you sell something through paypal, they can scam you by filing a claim after the fact, saying they never received the items. You would have no proof, since a "courier" picked them up. It is a common mistakes people make for local eBay pickup.

They may also be using a fake credit card or bank account, which holds you liable after they default.

Any links to your ad? I'm in need of wheels. I pay in cash.

I think I found it, are you in Coquille?

Do you know the backspace on those wheels? My rear shocks are pretty close to the tire.

I was able to eliminate all crap/spam replies in Craigslist by altering the way I write out my phone number.

Example, instead of 918-521-3772, it would read nine 1 eight, five 2 one-three 77 two....

There are spam bots that go out looking for phone numbers and give generic replies, which is why a lot say "I'm interested in your item" since it applies to everything....

I like to mess with them. I've sent them all sorts of demented/perverse stuff. The ones I've gotten are usually from Africa. Embedding videos or pictures in files or links titled "Bank Information" is always fun. The internet is a wonderful place full of demented people. I fit right in.
