Has anyone got any experience with the GK-03? I've got my eyes on one, and also on an F2 CBR, and I'm considering bringing them together into one happy family....and parting ways with my VFR GK13 to fund the whole thing. Problem is I have no experience with the GK03 and it's a a couple hours away from me. I'm trying to learn what I can before I go over there and get my hands on it.

It seems to be in a lot of ways a slightly wider GK06 in the back, but I can't find a lot of pictures. I'm trying to sort out if I have room to mount the motor back there without altering the wheelbase. I can't find any pics anywhere of the engine bay area so I'm at a loss there. I know with enough money, cutting, and welding anything is possible but I'd like to avoid the "anything is possible" approach if I can.

I'm also trying to sort out if the rear end is open or locked. I'm not sure I'm okay with an open rear end but maybe. I would prefer a solid rear...if it is open I'm sure I can have it welded, though. Does anyone know for sure?

yup I posted there but haven't had a lot of (any) input really. I've asked in a few other places, too. It seems that the GK03 just wasn't very common.

Yes ditto on Buggynews.com. But as with all Chinese buggies you can find variances on the same model.... Generally the frame stays the same but parts on it can vary...differnt carbs, sub variations on the engine etc. Also the variety of models can change depending on who Roketa had or has as dealers & what they wanted to order.

I have never been a big fan of engine upgrades to these given how bad 'some' of the steel was or the welding can be. Consider adjusting safety margins accordingly. Good luck.
