So I purchased some plans to make a tubing bender that include drawings for the dies as well. I work in a machine shop and have access to machines to make them but I'm new to the bending and a little confused on some of dimensions and was hoping someone with more experience could weekend let enlighten me. IMG_0364.jpg the part in this photo calls for a 1.484" width for the tubing to lay in. Isn't the tubing supposed to slide in this part?

Who made these plans?
They should have dimensioned the center of the circle, not the outer diameter. It is going to be tough to get a decent part off of this.
The circle cut looks to be offset, so the angle that is cut into the block is less than 180 degrees, which is why the diameter appears to be less than 1.500

Not sure who uses fractions on drawings either? Not making these with a tape measure!

I got the plans for the bender from rorty.net. the dies are protools. Now that you mention it being offset it makes sense now. I think I can work with the dimensions. The radius is offset and tapered down the length. Thank you for pointing that out.
