The accuracy of the large truck scales will most likely not be good enough for what you want. Those scales are made to measure trucks and I would be surprised if the accuracy is much better than 5% at the bottom end of the scale. They are usually designed to be accurate at the target weight range. Your best bet is the scale and keep the wheel height equal (close enough) all the way around. I used a normal scale and 3 wood two by fours on the other wheels. That was plenty close enough for my needs.

My plan is to weigh on the scale with truck and trailer with buggy then remove buggy and do the math. Local scrap yard scale they tell me is reading to nearest 20 pounds.
No help for figuring spring rates of course.

Look for the BDK one, he explains it and it's better than the two by version.

using bathroom, scales, (or even better racing wheel scales) the idea is to have the vehicle on a level surface and raise all the other wheels by the same height as the scale under the wheel or wheels. that way there's no load shift. having the scales on rollers so the suspension can settle also helps accuracy.

Once you get it weighed out, let us know what the weight is on each wheel. It will help you determine the front/rear weight distribution as well.
