So it turns out Suzuki thought it would be wise to retard the timing on their bikes from 1-5 gear. 6th gear shows open on the resistance and the timing is where it should be.

Upon researching this I found out the 600's and 750's need a 15k resistor 1/4 -1/2 watt is fine.

The 1000 and up need a 6.8k resistor.

Here's a link to a nice walk-through on how to DIY

You could purchase the plug and play models (25.00 up to 120.00), or I can make this one with a kill switch for under 8.00

Here is another link to a different walk-through

This mod should give more grunt down low in the RPM's, with my setup I need all I can get down low!

GSXR 750, auto clutch, no manual clutch so this should help right off the line. I have read you will lose some of the engine braking with this mod. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

I can remember not that long ago when Radio Shack actually sold electronic parts. Good luck finding a 15k 1/4 watt resistor at their stores now!

Had to order some resistors from FLEA-BAY. Only 1.19 for 5 resistors I only need one.

The switch is a 6 pole DPDT switch was 4.49 (Radio Shack had this part)

So rather than dig through all the wires at the main wire harness. I just found the plug for the TRE it has all the three of the right wires (blue neutral wire) Pink, and black with white stripe.

So, dont cut the blue just leave that one alone.

I used white wire for the pink, and black for the black

Many bike use something similar. They found that big motor bike couldn't be ridden esp lower gears. If you get into flashing the ecu, you can do the same internally.

    Nice simple, cheap fix.

Thanks, I wasnt sure how much of a difference it would make. Sounds like I will be pleased.

All that fun for less than a combo meal.
