I am looking for information about upgrading my niece's buggy. Please keep in mind she probably will never get over 130lbs. She blew up her FL400 this weekend at the dunes. It leaned out and popped the piston and took out the cylinder.

I was thinking going to CR500? Any information would be appreciated. (Like what does it take to do)

    Thanks

You're thinking about using a CR500 cylinder jug/Head on the FL400 bottom end?

I am not sure if it is a direct fit? If I can bolt a CR500 jug/head/piston/intake/carb that would be easy. But I am not sure if I have to replace the rod or crank? I know I have seen in the past people talk about putting cr500 in these Pilots. I need to do figure something out quick. We have a dunes trip planned in 3 weeks.

Contact me - I may know where there's a fully ready to drop in CR500 converted FL400 motor for sale.

You have to do quite a bit to the cases - weld in some stuff, move the studs, modify the ports, bore the cases so the piston doesn't hit the top of them, etc., etc..
